I was just wondering if there are any fellow vegetarians like myself on the zone, and if so if you guys have any suggestions as far as making sure you get the right amoutn of protein and things like that. I just went vegetarian like two months ago, and am still exploring healthy coices...just wondering if there were any suggestions....

I'm not vegetarian, but have ideas for protein.
The options for adding soy to the diet or almost endless. Tofu, TVP (textured vegetable protein), tempa, etc.
Also, beans are a good source of protein, especially when eaten with rice. And try to add nuts or nut butters to your diet too.

Are you vegan, or do you still eat things like milk eggs and cheese?

I'm vegetarian (have been for almost 5 years now). It's definitely important to get the right amounts of proteins and other nutrients. I talke a multi-vitamin and a protein suppliment myself. I'm also into soy, tofu, and use protein powders in drinks and shakes.

Japanese, Chinese, and Indian food are all wonderful, if you want a really classy meal that won't look vegetarian contrived. You can try a lot of different soy meats, Morning Star farms makes wonderful soy sossage, and soy ground beef that is wonderful in vegetarian tacos or in pasta sauce. Bocca makes the best Soy burgers. They grill very nicely and taste very much like the real thing. Soy dogs are not bad, but I'd recomend making them in to chili cheese dogs to mask the soyness of the flavor. Silken tofu combined with nut butters, cream cheese, and sugars and surups makes a really nice disert, sort of a protein rich moose, or ice cream. I would reccomend chilling it so that it is almost frozen, but not quite.
